Sceptre E248W-19203R 24″ Ultra Thin 75Hz 1080p LED Monitor 2x HDMI VGA Build-in Speakers, Metallic Black 2018
I needed a new monitor for a replacement PC within the office. After some online window shopping selected this because it had been the simplest value in terms of size versus price. I’d also purchased these for clients within the past and heard they were proud of them. After seeing the complaints about the colors being washed out, I gave my monitors away and decided if there have been any problems with these I’d either accept it or fix it.
Out of the box, the monitors were fine. The only complaint I can come up with is that the VESA mounts are lower on the rear thanks to the slim design. After watching settings, I decided that on behalf of me as an IT manager I didn’t get to recalibrate the screens in the least. Actually, the general uses are reading text documents, configuration pages for network equipment, and the accounting software any company staff uses.
One thought on the others experiencing washed out colors – HDMI out on a computer quite expects a TV. Televisions and Monitors will sometimes have different ranges for black levels, which may cause the screen to seem washed out. If you’re experiencing this, check the instrument panel for your graphics driver. You should be ready to adjust black levels and fix the difficulty. This has been a driving think about my preference for almost anything over HDMI. (Display Port is king, for what it’s worth.)
Set up was easy, the resolution is perfect for my needs (Business). I did some initial setup with adjusting the view area of the screen but the auto adjustment made that very simple. I use the VGA connections so can’t speak to the HDMI but for the Price these are amazing. One thing that I will mention is that they use a proprietary Power cord but that is more just for the information it has a very large plug so you will need to account for that when planning your Power set up.
When I bought these monitors, I was looking for something big enough, good enough, and cheap enough. These were perfect.
They may not be best-in-class for color and contrast, but not bad by any definition. I use them for programming, YouTube, and Office primarily, and they look great for that. If you a hard-core movie watcher/gamer and want the most superb image quality, maybe move on, but if you’ve just been thinking about doing a dual monitor setup, but didn’t want to spend the money–just buy these. They’re worth it.
At first, I felt that it lacked brightness but I got used to it, the images look great, the refresh rate is 74,973 Hz with windows. I received the E248W-19203RT, and another important thing is that it is 24″ counting the frame so it gives 23.85″ of the screen in actually
Of all the monitors I searched for and ordered this was the best quality-price, the only disadvantage I see is the volume level of the speakers that brings integrated is quite low, but in itself, from the beginning, I had already bought speakers so it was no inconvenience.
